Taxi will be more expensive

From tomorrow, January 15, the price of taxis in the Sao Paulo will increase 18%. The adjustment will work for all the categories: regular, special, luxury, Radiotaxi and even for disabled. The tarif of common taxi, which was R$ 3.50 will pass to R$ 4.10. The price per km will increase from R$ 2.10 to R$ 2.50.

Public hearing for the Luz region renewal

Today, January 14, a public hearing will be held in the Auditorium of Fatec to discuss the draft of the project to upgrade the region of Luz, in the center of Sao Paulo.

The polygon formed by Avenues Ipiranga, São João, Duque de Caxias, Rua Maua and Avenue Casper Libero is part of an innovative project of urban renewal that the city council will deliver in April 2011.Already in development, the initiative provides, among other actions, the recovery of historic buildings, the reform of public open spaces, the creation of green spaces and leisure facilities and the improvement of the urban environment of the region. The proposal is to build a project that respects the values and local culture, with the cooperation and involvement of everyone.

A summary of the project was presented to the press on December 17, 2010. The main objective of the changes is to increase the number of residents in the area and encourage the development of trade.The region that today has about 11 000 inhabitants will pass to have about 20 000 spread over 11 000 new housing units.

 
By this way, the city council aims to increase movement in the region, especially at night when offices close. A focal point of the project is the end of cracolândia (an area of the region where crack addicts use to live). But an important question to be raised is where these drug users will go since their remove from the site to another is not an effective solution.

Free classes of Tai Chi Chuan

Starting from today (January 12) the Samaritano Hospital of São Paulo will offer free classes of Tai Chi Chuan, every  Wednesday and Friday, 8:30 am to 9:30 am, at the Praça Irmãos Karman.

Since last year, the Hospital also offers stretching classes every Tuesday and Thursday from 9am to 10am.

 

Those interested should attend the venue on the class day and contact the teacher who has a shirt of the Samaritano Hospital.

 

There are still tickets for Sao Paulo carnival

 
You can still find tickets for most sections of the Anhembi Sambadrome to watch the parades of the schools of samba of São Paulo, scheduled for March 4, 5 and 6. Values range from $ 25 to R $ 19,200. Janelle shines at the Amy's stage

This 25 years old American singer is an amazing revelation of soul music opening the concert of Amy Winehouse. Those who arrived early for the Amy Winehouse concert in Florianopolis or Rio shouldn't have complained for the fact Amy have been on stage for a little more than an hour. The American singer Janelle Monáe worths the ticket price.

Revelation of soul music, Janelle is the daughter of a drug addict and a housekeeper and was born in Kansas City in the USA. On his debut album, The Archandroid, already launched in Brazil, she mixes everything in order to make the listener dance. There are influences of Soul, R&B and Rock.

Amy Winehouse is travelling with her tour around Brazil and will end in Sao Paulo

Her concert in Florianópolis of just over an hour seemed a audition. Amy Winehouse has opened its first Brazilian tour in the early hours of last Saturday.

Tonight she has a concert in Rio, and 15th in Recife. This Saturday 15th it will be in Sao Paulo.

Amy took the stage shortly before 1am on Sunday. With a voice as she sang hits like "Rehab" and "Back to Black, " and showed two new tracks. Between one and another song, talked with the band about what would be the next song as if it were to be decide on the stage.

Janelle Monáe and Mayer Hawthorne opened the presentation, just as they will do in Sao Paulo.
