Exhibition Carbono Catorze brings innovation in collective art

On October 6 was inaugurated an exhibition titled "Carbono Catorze" (Carbon Fourteen) of the Base-V collective formed by Danilo Oliveira, David Magila and Zansky.

Here the artists bring unpublished drawings made ​​by them combined with a series of oil paintings and an installation with over 200 works in small formats. The exhibition runs until November 10.

These images are composed by strokes and interferences that add style to it and also sometimes destroy the image, highlighting the autonomy of painting as a language; a sort of representation.

Impressionist exhibition in Sao Paulo. It's for free!

On the very beginning of August was inaugurated at the Centro Cultural Banco do Brazil - CCBB, the exhibition entitled Paris: Impressionism and Modernity. This is a major international exhibition which attracted over 10 thousand visitors on the first weekend. The exhibition was opened on  August 4th and continued uninterrupted until 22h the next day.

The exhibition features 85 pieces of great exponents of Impressionism, such as Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh, Jules Lefebvre, Edouard Manet, Paul Gauguin, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Toulouse-Lautrec, among others. The aim of the exhibition is to present a detailed overview of the Impressionist movement, since it was very significant in Paris during the nineteenth century. The works are from the Musée d'Orsay (one of the most visited in the world and holder of the most important collection of Impressionist art). It worth a visit!

Every Monday, 5 to 10 people go to the Paulista
to hug anyone with arms wide open

The idea came from Rachel, the daughter of Chris Julian from Zoe. She found out about this international Free Hugs campaing on the internet on 2009 and decided to do the same in Sao Paulo. A group of Zoe went to Parque Ibirapuera and it was a hit. Since then, they do this every Monday night at Paulista Avenue with signs reading "Abracos". According to Chris, nearly 1,500,000 people walk Avenida Paulista everyday and the Zoe team intention is to share something simple and free. That's the purpose! It's worth a hug, doesn't it?

One more thing, after the hug sections, they often go to Starbucks for coffee and chat. And then head over to a Pizzeria for dinner.

 

What is Zoe?
Zoe is a different kind of evangelical church that offers meetings every Saturday night. One of their principles is going to people instead of just inviting them to join.

Sao Paulo: Unimaginable!

On 2010, the SPturis (Sao Paulo tourism department) prepared this video advertisement of São Paulo but it has never been published it here. It shows a little bit of the city features, such as: Alex Atala's new dish, DJ Marky's soundtrack, a Campana brother's armchair design, and characters represented by street art paints crossing several landmarks of the city.

All these expressions were compiled and produced by Fernando Meirelles and directed by Paulinho Caruso to become a campaign of São Paulo Turismo entitled "Unimaginable".
