Casa de Quem, a fashion-design-arto shop inside Sao Paulo

Have you ever imagined a house full of fashion, art and music? Now you can have it, it's the Casa de Quem (Whose house), in the centre of Sao Paulo thise house offers workshops, exhibitions, graffiti, courses, all happening at once in the same place. The project was created by Mario Mantovanni in partnership with Monayna Pinheiro, the designer of the brand Apego. The idea came from the will of an area where they could not just run a clothing store or a studio creation, but that all those things going on simultaneously, like art exhibitions, cultural events, courses, workshops in fashion design! The designer Mario Mantovanni said "it is impossible to separate the art from fashion. For this reason we created a space that aggregates all of this!" They are open for partership, so people can add their creations at the space, designers and artists are really welcome here. So the shop sells clothes and accessories from a whole range of independent labels. At the end more stylists and designers mean more merchandise and more customers. As a result, the Casa has its finger firmly on the pulse of São Paulo’s alternative fashion scene.

A Ilha - The Island

In such a huge city like Sao Paulo it is easy to find yourself dealing with traffic every day. On the traffic theme in Sao Paulo is this video, an animated short - created by the Oficina de Animação 3D Escola de Audiovisual de Brasília - titled A Ilha. The island in question is a traffic island, where the protagonist finds himself spending a period in his life, trying to cross the roadway. Really nice! The presententation sentence of Josè Saramago says that "It is necessary to leave the island in order to see the island, we can't see us if we don't let us out of ourselves"

Blackout hits São Paulo last night

For reasons not fully explained, 9 Brazilian states faced an unexpected Blackout on the night of November 10th at about 10h15pm.

Officials of the Brazilian Power Distribution said the problem was caused by a storm in the state of Parana, which reached the grid lines of transmission coming from the Itaipu hydroelectric plant, responsible for 14 GW.

Eduardo Barata, director of distribution ONS assured that the problem is not in the hydroelectric power, but over the more than 1000 km of transmission network.

Sao Paulo, was completely blind from 10:15pm till 2h15am. The energy has been gradually reestablished. No focus of urban chaos has been identified, but on the streets, the lack of energy in the traffic lights left turned traffic complex in the first hour of blackout.

Casa Club Hostel Bar, a great place to stay!

Casa Club Hostel Bar is located in the heart of Vila Madalena. It was born from the idea of a group of friends and former students of USP Ricardo Ferreira, Paulo Zaine and Savio Henrique. The location is great (close to the bars, easy access to buses and taxis, supermarkets, bakeries and restaurants) and the place is brand new.

The bar was open first but now the hostel is working as well and since we think the offer of good hostel in Sao Paulo is not that big, this could be a great suggestion. The low cost rooms attracts young people who seek cultural tourism. The owners will give you tips about the city that just a local could know. This is a good way to make tourists stay longer in the city, which is also Inside Sao Paulo's mission!

Don't forget that is a bar too, so you can even go just for a drink and found yourself into a very cosmopolitan ambient!
